Money
Students will need money for…
1. 3 meals while traveling
2. CIY Store: the store sells shirts, hats, and other CIY items
Cell Phones
Students can bring cell phones, but I ask them to limit their use on the bus ride down. I ask them to stay off social media, YouTube, play games, etc. I want that time to bond with friends and not bury their faces in their screens.
During the week I challenge and ask the same thing. If you could prep them for that, that would be great.
What To Bring
1. Clothing for 5 days – We will do 3 themed dress-up days
a. Red White and Blue Day
b. Hawaiian or tourist day
c. Dress up Night. Like you are going to a casual wedding, (think don’t just wear shorts and a T-shirt)
2. Good walking shoes, we do a lot of waking around campus
3. Swimwear (We are swimming on our free day), girl please bring one piece
4. Bedding for a single bed or sleeping bag, pillow
5. Bible, notebook
6. Toiletry Items, including prescription medication
7. Towel - kids often forget this one.
8. Optional: Snacks, Kids get hungry. They are free to bring snack food.
9. Optional: A present for Aaron
Dress Code
modesty prevails in all matters.
The biggest issue we see a lot is short shorts. We don't want to see butt cheeks.
We don’t want to see girls wearing long shirts that cover up their shirts where it looks like they are not wearing any shorts. If this happens, they will be told to tuck in their shirt.
If your child has an item that seems questionable probably just not wear it or even pack it.
What Not To Bring
Portable electronics (Switch, laptops, tablets, etc.)
Alcohol, cigarettes, e-cigs, vapes drugs, weapons,
fireworks(yes I have had students bring these before)
Refrigerators TVs, or air-conditioners.
If your child brings these items or breaks the rules they could be sent home at your expense.
Rules From CIY
1. Respect others and yourself.
2. No guys in girls' dorms beyond the front
lobby and vice versa.
3. Alcohol, tobacco, vaping, drugs, and weapons
are absolutely prohibited
4. Everyone must be in their dorms by the
designated “In Dorm Time.”
5. For security reasons, no students with
backpacks are allowed into the auditorium or cafeteria.
6. Follow the schedule. Be where you are
supposed to be when you are supposed to be there.
7. During sessions, stay in your assigned
seating. Please follow the posted seating chart.
8. Do not leave the auditorium once the speakers
begin talking.
9. Respect the campus – no TP, water balloons,
shaving cream, sidewalk chalk, etc. No practical jokes!
10. Do not move furniture as you will be charged
for any assessed damage.
11. Do not dial 911 unless it is a true emergency.
12. Absolutely no fireworks at any time during
MOVE or while on campus property.
